Automatic garage door openers have been really handy to several homes each day. The more modern designs are made less hazardous, which is due to the new state and federal rules that was recognized starting January 1, 1993. These directives, founded on the Underwriters Laboratories Standard 325, require that all the garage door opener fabricated for US use should have optical sensor or door edge sensor in them. UL 325 also includes a list of environment and problem finding requirements.
Safety laws nationwide pertaining to garage doors were mostly derived from UL 325. It was drafted by the Underwriters Laboratories in 1973 and originally planned to be an independent industry standard safety protocol which has been amended twice to include coverage of electric shock, fire and entrapment hazards prevention. A US law was enacted in 1990 that demands all residential garage door opener made and sold locally to adapt the UL 325 entrapment safety protocols. The UL 325 was again edited to add the requirement of an optical sensor or a door edge sensor or something similar to this.
